About this book

This book assembles Stemmer’s most important essays advancing the contractarian moral theory he first proposed in Handeln zugunsten anderer. The central question is: What are the best criteria for distinguishing good moral principles from wrong or bad moral principles? Stemmer gives particular attention to justifications and their relationship to the prohibition of oppression. He also examines the links between will, practical reasons, and normativity.
