About this book

This book aims to facilitate consilience, or convergence, between the humanities and natural sciences. The sophistication of the discussion greatly exceeds that of other books on scientific topics written for popular consumption. A separate chapter addresses fundamental aspects of mathematics, easing the reader’s understanding of scientific concepts. The second edition has been expanded with a chapter on cosmology.
