About this book

Cultural phenomena taking place in Medieval Europe rarely attained the dimensions of the legend of Barlaam and Josaphat. This volume includes essays about different aspects of this phenomenon along with a previously unpublished Latin version. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the publication, it will appeal to German scholars, Romance language scholars, Middle Latin scholars, Byzantine scholars, as well as art historians.
