About this book

The correspondence between Stefan George and Ernst Morwitz reveals new facets of the poet and his social circle, disclosing a friendship and love affair of equal standing between George and the young Jewish jurist, who rose to become a high-ranking judge during the Weimar Republic. The letters show that through Morwitz, youth and pedagogy became increasingly important in George’s circle, alongside poetry and science.
