La obra de Antonio Pereira permite a sus lectores cómplices disfrutar del escritor erigido en ciudadano, de sus rincones afectivos, del tono oral, de su inteligente oficio de mirar, del poso humano y de la vecindad, de la vigorosa dimensión ética proyectada en la mirada social y el testimonio solidario, así como del ingenio, de la ternura y del humor con los que envuelve el retrato de lo cotidiano y del existir. Con la indagación en su poesía y en su cuentística, este volumen incide en la relevancia de su poliédrica creación. Nueve investigaciones realizan una aproximación a su figura, a su personalidad literaria, a su voz poética, al empleo de símbolos, a los mecanismos de configuración de sus relatos, a la proyección ideológica sociopolítica de los mismos, al alcance de los inicios y a herramientas como la metaficción, la hiperbrevedad y el fragmentarismo. Finalmente, la coda sitúa a Pereira en la singular producción literaria enmarcada en la geografía del noroeste de Iberia.
